A Blacksmith Walks into a Bar…
Blacksmithing + Copppersmithing: Level 1

During this 2 day course you will experience what it is like to shape both copper and steel using fire and hammers. You will try your hand at coppersmithing and will learn how to solder by making a copper shot glass. We will then move over to the blacksmith’s forges, where you will learn a variety of forging techniques in order to create a steel bottle opener. During the third project, you will combine both steel and copper to create a ladle, which could be used in a bunch bowl or as a beautiful addition to your kitchen.

  • Forged bottle opener

  • Forged stir stick

Prerequisites: None.

Class runs from 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday with a 1h lunch. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
